Vinyasa means to place, in a special way. A single vinyasa can also refer to a sequence of movement that is paired with breath. Vinyasa yoga is therefore a sweeping term that can apply to many yoga practices that involve conscious movement and breath.



ABOUT 

Wen took her first rocket yoga class in London in 2017 and was instantly hooked -- on the physical practice, the warm community, and the relevance of yoga philosophy to modern life. 

Wen is a former dancer trained in Ballet, Chinese classical and folk dance, and the Horton and Graham styles of modern dance. As a yogi, Wen is trained in Tripsichore and am certified with over 600 hours RYT in Ashtanga, Vinyasa Yoga, Rocket, and Mandala.

Her classes integrate the breath and movement techniques of yoga and dance, focusing on playful sequencing that brings a healthy challenge to the body and mind.

She appears in How to Win at Yoga by Marcus Veda & Hannah Whittingham (2019), and Yoga for Inflexible People by Max & Liz Lowenstein (2020).

WORKSHOPS

​If you are new to yoga, and even if you have a regular practice, certain movements can be hard to grasp during a short class. Workshops are a great way to understand the mechanics of a movement, learn strength-building exercises and variations, get feedback on your progress, and figure out how to integrate new movements into your practice.

Tea & Yoga

Join us for our second Tea & Yoga workshop, where we begin with an invigorating tea meditation to help awaken the body and mind, move into a vinyasa flow, and end with a calming tea meditation.

@yogetoverit (Wen) will lead the yoga session, which will start with simple, gentle movements and build up to a smooth and energising yoga flow. We will finish with a savasana to return to resting state.

be-oom (Sooji) will lead the tea meditation, guiding and setting your breath and energy level before and after the yoga flow. During the session, you will be drinking be-oom teas, sourced directly from small farms in Korea.

We will be providing a cotton tea mat and tea sampler for you to take home.

Wen has over 600 hours of Registered Yoga Teacher training and teaches at Digme (Bank) and Tripspace (Haggerston), as well as group and 1:1 classes via Zoom. She is a former dancer and she likes to bring a lyrical perspective to her yoga flows.

Sooji is the owner of London’s only Korean tea house be-oom, whose mission is to help you find a place within the mind to empty and fill, all while emptying a cup of tea.

Spring Day Retreat at Penpont

Sue and I met during our yoga teacher training in London and since she moved to Wales and established a yoga studio there, Ty Yoga, we have run an annual day retreat together that celebrates our mutual love of yoga and good food, in a very special setting. Sue has a background in meditation and mindfulness in addition to teaching dynamic and gentle vinyasa yoga styles.

This day retreat takes place indoors at the Stables at Penpont, a historic estate built in 1666 and nestled in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Bring a yoga mat and a swimsuit/towel if you'd like to go for a cold dip in the river! (Showers on-site)


Penpont is most easily accessed by car but if you are traveling from London or any other major city, take the train to Abergavenny and a 40-minute cab ride (~£40 to Penpont).

Yoga Sailing Retreat
with Wen & EY Sailing

A week that captures two bank holidays (for those traveling from the UK) that combines powerful yoga and sweet relaxation, exploring the Greek islands of the Ionian Sea and enjoying local gastronomy. Get the unique experience of living on a sailing yacht while doing morning yoga by the sea with fantastic views.

First time yogis are welcome and no sailing experience is necessary. The Ionian Sea is known for its calm seclusion so expect smooth sailing under the skilful hand of Panos, experienced skipper and co-founder of EY Sailing.


Retreat size is limited to 8. Price includes room and board on the yacht, meals (excluding a few dinners on shore), daily group yoga classes, and roundtrip transfers between Kefalonia Airport and our arrival port, and between our departure port and Aktion Airport. Flights to Kefaonia and from Aktion are not included.

YOGA CHAKRAS COURSE

Inspired by the March Daily Yogis!

Chakras are the 7 focal points of meditation in the body. This will be an introduction to the chakras and the meditation, breathing techniques, and movements associated with each. It will be gentle - a relaxing and refreshing pause button for the middle of your day. (This works as a morning course for those across the Atlantic, and an evening course for those in Asia!)

Above is a short video of our more dynamic Daily Yoga morning classes from this past March. The 7 chakras are sometimes associated with the colours of the rainbow, so we wore the corresponding colour each day.
